After working with Brusseau Design Group and W-T Engineering to develop an existing conditions report and 5-year master plan for all the Park District’s facilities, it was determined that the Administration Building would need significant work to restore the building and bring it up to current codes.
The Administration Building project consisted of a three -story, 2,250 SF addition, 6,800 SF remodeling, and an exterior masonry restoration. The new spaces included a two-story lobby, common areas, board room, offices, remodeled roof deck, toilet rooms and elevator to bring the building up to current accessibility standards. The existing building was built in 1938 as a Works Progress Administration project, and had very minimal changes since its construction. The addition allowed for the creation of a new formal entry to the building and access to the new elevator and remodeled stair tower.
